Thousands of people took part in a celebration today at Kennedy Airport as they readied a send-off for Pope Benedict XVI in a conclusion to his six-day visit to Washington and New York. The airport celebration marked a chance for the Diocese of Brooklyn, which includes Queens, to take part in the papal visit. The ceremony was a celebration of the church's diversity.
